Reasonably good location to the airport. just takes about 20 mins due to shear volume of traffic but that comes with a big city like Bangkok. there were also roadworks. beds very comfortable and clean. shower was not very inviting and if my husband didn't have some plumbing knowledge then we would have probably needed help to just switch it on. There is a small pool which I'm sure would be lovely if you had time to use it. The breakfast is pretty basic and the coffee is not really drinkable. We walked around to this lovely little shipping container coffee shop (6min walk) called Moka pot coffee-defintely head there if you like a decent coffee in the morning or just a nice refreshing drink. The staff at the hotel were lovely and very welcoming. There is a nice market out the front which is fun to walk around and 2 7-elevens close by. The airport pick-up was good, although we had to wait about 25-30 minutes before being picked up due to the traffic. I don't think we would have got there much quicker if we had taken our own taxi though due to the queues. Room service food was reasonable but slightly annoying they have a policy of not bringing in outside food and drink. We were ok with bringing stuff in from 7-eleven but not sure how they would feel if you ordered in food via Grab for example. Booking.com says that this hotel does not accept young children. This is not the case and I would advise it's changed as I'm sure if affects bookings. Our daughter did have to sleep in the bed with us but the bed was so big it didn't matter. Overall a good place to stay for a stopover.

I've given only a few 10s over the years but felt compelled to administer such a grade this time because the pros significantly outweighed the cons. The hotel and room were large, clean, and comfortable, including the bed. The outside looked like a small jungle, with many beautiful plants. The back of the hotel bordered a small river with a pier you could walk out onto. That night, I ordered Thai green curry chicken from the onsite restaurant and it was amazing and among the best I've ever had. The next morning, the included breakfast selection was very good and tasty, especially the Thai green curry beef. A green salad was also part of the offerings. The most impressive perks offered were the complimentary hotel shuttle pickup and drop-off. That was a huge plus. Other than high-end expensive hotels (like certain Marriott facilities), I've never encountered a budget hotel that included these services. In this price range, this currently stands at the very top of my world-wide budget hotel list.

Huge room with a balcony looking out over the courtyard and klong, watching birds nesting in the tree and the koi in the pond below. The bed was enormous and comfortable. Room was so clean. Air-conditioning was efficient. Water in the fridge. The bathroom is cute, nicely designed wet room with big tiles and soft lighting. Took a while to work out the shower but it was hot and good pressure. The building is easy to get round with the lifts in the middle. The reception team are helpful and friendly. Lovely area to sit inside, nice pool area, great cafe for breakfast or dinner by the edge of the water. The gardens are abundant with tropical plants, beautifully maintained. The fitness room was ideal, tiny little space with air-conditioning and free weights and a few cardio machines. Clean. It was all clean and beautiful! Heaps of shops and markets all really close. Atm 1 minute walk away.

Sochel

A good functional hotel for a night between flights from Bangkok’s main airport. Pick up and return service from the airport included in the price, room was fairly sparse but had everything we needed for a short stay and bed was comfortable. Very efficient check in/check out. Booked a deluxe room which had a view over the canal. Breakfast was ok, no yogurt or pastries and a lot of Thai style breakfast dishes, so we just had toast and a bit of fruit, but at less than £40 for the night (including the breakfast and transfers) it was excellent value for money.

Have stayed here many times over the years and love this hotel. Great location with food markets and stalls and shopping mall all a short walk away. Breakfast is great overlooking the river. Rooms clean, pool immaculate. Unfortunately we were greeted by a hostile night receptionist demanding we pay for a room we had already cancelled months previous and had the app to show this. Her attitude was unacceptable and was not the welcome we had anticipated.
